Altus Schools Pre-K and Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2023-2024 School Year

Altus Public Schools is rounding up all of our youngest Bulldogs who are ready for Pre-K and Kindergarten on Tuesday, April 13. Altus Early Childhood and Rivers Elementary Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up will give parents an opportunity to complete the enrollment process and visit the school.

Altus Public Schools offers two Pre-K and Kindergarten programs, Altus Early Childhood Center and Rivers Elementary located on Altus Air Force Base. Rivers Elementary Pre-K is open to those students living in Altus Air Force Base housing or who have a parent working on base, in either a military or civilian job.  Rivers Elementary will hold Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Altus Early Childhood Center is located at 1100 N Forrest and is open to anyone living in the Altus Public Schools district or on a transfer. Altus Early Childhood Center’s Round-up event will be held on Tuesday, April 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Children eligible for pre-kindergarten must turn four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023.

All Pre-K programs are full-day programs. Transportation is not provided for Pre-K students in the Altus School District.

To complete enrollment, parents must complete Online Registration at www.altusps.com and provide the following for each child.  They can be uploaded electronically or copies can be given to the school prior to school beginning in August.

1.     Birth Certificate – an unofficial hospital record is accepted

2.     Immunization Record

3.     Social Security Number – optional

4.     Proof of Residency – current utility bill, proof of payment of local or ad valorem taxes, property title, mortgage/lease agreement, rent receipt, or notarized affidavit verifying residency and custody of the student are accepted.
