Mrs. Prough’s 7th grade Science classes accepted the Great Paper Chain Challenge last week. It took some thought and engineering to create the longest paper chain from one piece of paper.

After school tutoring permission slips have been sent home. Please have your student return these forms to the main office to be able to take advantage of this opportunity for help on school work! Before and after school tutoring starts on 9/3/24 at 7:15 am and 3:05 pm.
Students: Go see Mrs. McCasland and Ms. Ortega in the library and grab a bingo card and start reading to win!
AJH Athletic Events this week.
Out of an abundance of caution due to the water boil restrictions and not being able to provide enough water to students, Altus Public Schools will be closed on Friday, August 23. As always, student and staff safety is our priority. All out-of-town athletic events will continue as scheduled.
All home athletic events tonight have been canceled.
AJH Football will still travel to Weatherford Scrimmage.
Due to the water loss across the district, Altus Public Schools will close at 11:00 today. Buses will run normal routes at 11:00. There will be no after-school daycare.

AJH Parent Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 5:30pm in the cafeteria.
AJH Book Club meets on Wednesday's during lunch!

We are looking forward to seeing your student tomorrow for the 1st day of school at AJH! 7th grade parent drop off is in the front of the building. Please use the circle drive off of Ridgecrest and let your student out when you reach the front of the building. 8th grade drop off goes through the parking lot on the west side of the building. The entrance is at the far west end of the parking lot. Arrows direct you around the parking lot and lead to the doors in front of the gymnasium entrance where students are dropped off. Students should never be dropped off from the road. Have a great last day of summer break!

AJH Cross County Parent Information Meeting on Wednesday, August 14th at 5:30pm in the cafeteria.
We are excited see everyone at Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 12th from 8am-3pm. Please use the cafeteria entrance and we will direct you and your students from there.
Reminder: All incoming 7th graders are required to receive a dose of the TDAP vaccine.
